About Lauren

Lauren Osborne is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and and Art Therapist (ATR-P) based in Washington State. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinician Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle and specializes in working with adults navigating religious trauma, existential concerns, and major life transitions shaped by high-control religious experiences.

Lauren works with individuals at many points in their relationship to Christian fundamentalist and high-control religious traditions, including those in the midst of faith crisis, those who have recently left and feel disoriented or untethered, and those who left years or decades ago and are now exploring how earlier religious experiences continue to shape identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. She has experience supporting former Jehovah’s Witnesses, Latter-day Saints, individuals from Pentecostal and Evangelical communities, Southern Baptists, members of the Church of Christ, and people from independent, non-denominational, or blended faith communities shaped by multiple theological influences. Lauren is queer-allied and affirms LGBTQIA plus identities, offering a supportive space for individuals whose gender or sexual identity may have been marginalized or rejected within religious environments. Drawing from both professional training and lived experience, Lauren offers an informed and steady approach to exploring identity, meaning, and autonomy after high-control religious environments.

Her therapeutic style is eclectic and relational, integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, existential therapy, narrative work, attachment-based perspectives, CBT, and DBT-informed skills, and parts-oriented approaches. As a trained art therapist, Lauren offers art therapy, eco art, and fiber art as optional forms of exploration, while also supporting clients who prefer conversation-based work or a personalized blend of creative and talk-based approaches.

Lauren offers telehealth services to adults across Washington State and provides a warm, empathetic, queer-affirming, neurodiversity affirming, and non-judgmental environment where clients can reflect, explore their identity, and engage in the reclamation of Self.
